To qualify for any form of cosmetic dentistry, you need to be free of gum disease and cavities. Our cosmetic dentists must resolve these oral health issues before applying porcelain veneers.

Ready for Permanent Change

Tooth Preparation

Your dentist begins the process of placing dental veneers by removing a small amount of enamel from each tooth that will receive a veneer. This keeps the restoration flush with surrounding teeth, avoiding a bulky look. Once the preparation is complete, we will take impressions.

Veneer Placement

You will return for a second appointment in about two weeks when the veneers are ready for placement. Our doctors will place your custom-made veneers onto your teeth and secure them with dental cement. 

Bonding

Our doctors will use a special light to make the dental cement harden quickly. Once the adhesive is fully cured, your porcelain veneer will have all of the functionality of a regular tooth.

Be Mindful When Chewing

Try to bite into foods with teeth that haven't received veneers and chew carefully. Avoid hard, sticky, and tough foods that could damage your veneers or pull them off your teeth.

Attend Dental Appointments

Our dentists in Aiken can check the condition of your teeth and veneers during twice-yearly checkups. They can also let you know when you'll need to replace your veneers.

Are Veneers Always the Solution?
