Your Orthodontic Treatment Options
Braces are a trusted method to correct crooked teeth and can improve both the appearance and function of your bite. Patients with mild, moderate, and severe alignment issues are generally good candidates and they can choose between metal and clear ceramic braces. Both types of braces can achieve the same outcome with the primary difference being that the ceramic braces blend in more naturally with your teeth.
ClearCorrect® is similar to Invisalign® and uses a series of clear aligner trays to realign your smile. Like Invisalign, ClearCorrect offers patients with mild to moderate cases of misalignment a discreet option that provides a number of advantages when compared to traditional braces. Since the trays are removable, you can still eat your favorite foods and clean your teeth without any modifications to your regular schedule.

The Center for Dentistry on Silverbluff Rd in Aiken, SC is the very best practice for dental care. I have been going there for years. Dr Leah Wilkins and Dr Tal Wilkins and their staff are phenomenal! They have seen me through full orthodontic braces from start to finish and my routine care today. I won't go anywhere else! This is also the practice for anyone who has difficulty going to a dentist. You can trust them and their staff to take excellent care of you. Theresa Randall, Aiken SCView on Google
I am so grateful to finally have a dentist and hygienist who are gentle, knowledgeable, compassionate, and eager to learn! Dr. Leah is an excellent communicator and actually listens to our concerns and never makes us feel rushed or unimportant. The receptionists were all very kind, and Jena especially has been immensely patient and went above and beyond to explain costs, insurance billing, and everything else I had questions about.View on Google
A Closer Look at the Difference Between ClearCorrect and Braces
For both of these orthodontic methods, the length of treatment will depend on the complexity of your dental misalignment. In general, orthodontic aligner systems like ClearCorrect and Invisalign take 12–18 months to achieve the best results. Treatment with braces generally takes 18–24 months.
Clear aligner orthodontics, like ClearCorrect and Invisalign, are best suited for treating cases of mild to moderate misalignment. Braces can be used to correct mild to severe misalignment.
ClearCorrect aligners are made of thin, translucent plastic, making them nearly invisible in your mouth. While traditional braces are more visible than clear aligners, there are things we can do to make braces more discreet, such as using clear or tooth-colored rubber bands on your brackets. You can also choose to receive clear braces if discretion is one of your treatment priorities.
Because clear aligners are removable, practicing good oral hygiene during treatment is as simple as following your regular brushing and flossing routine. You can easily clean the aligners with a soft toothbrush and mild soap. Braces aren't especially difficult to clean around, and special tools like floss threaders can help you clean those hard-to-reach areas.
