Talmadge D. Wilkins IV, DMD, FAGD

Talmadge D. Wilkins IV, DMD, FAGD is a graduate from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry. Before studying dentistry, he received a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University. At WVU, Dr. Wilkins was a member of its rifle team where he won four NCAA National Championships and was a six time All-American. During this time, he was also a member of the US Shooting National Team. While he won many national honors, his highest accolade was winning a gold and silver medal for the United States in the 1994 World Championships in Milan, Italy. After dental school, Dr. Wilkins completed a general practice residency followed by training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. He is the former Assistant Director of the Medical College of Georgia’s General Practice Residency where he still maintains an appointment as an Instructor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation.

Dr. Wilkins has obtained his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Additionally he has obtained his Mastership in the College of Conscious Sedation from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Orthodontic Association, American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and Aiken Dental Society. In the South Carolina Dental Association, Dr. Wilkins actively serves his fellow dentists and the public by serving on the Strategic Planning Committee, the committee for Disaster Relief, and is a member of the House of Delegates. He has given lectures and continuing education courses in many different topics to include: all phases of Implant Dentistry, Cosmetics in Dentistry, IV Sedation, Emergency Management, and treatment of the Medically Compromised.

Dr. Wilkins and his wife, Leah, who is also a dentist, reside in Aiken County. In their free time they enjoy traveling, boating, shooting, hunting, exercising, and spending lots of time with their two children, Witt and Loren.
